Susan Fielder Hello and thank you for coming. It's a bit overwhelming up here. I've never given a public talk before, so forgive me if I'm a little nervous. I'm not quite sure what an artist's talk should be. I've spoken with the gallery staff and they tell me to talk about the works in the exhibition. Can you hear me down the back? Just let me know if I get too soft.

I imagine most artists are quite good at talking off the cuff about their work, but because it's so long since I made these paintings I've had to labour over this talk a bit more. I'll stick with the printed page if that's alright. I imagine they'll be opportunities for questions at the end.

The usual preliminaries, just to set the scene. You can skip this if you like and go straight to the next screen.
