Kees Hos'Turn the Soil' opened at The La Trobe Regional Gallery on Friday 20th March. It was opened by the distinguished Kees Hos, who established the renowned Gippsland Art School along Bauhaus lines. Morwell audienceThe school became one of the most radical art schools in Australia, thanks to his free-thinking teaching methods. For the opening he read from a speech composed especially for the opening for the Dutch Consul General, Jan van Galen Last. There is an online version of his opening speech.
